40Cr
- Material Overview: 40Cr is an alloy structural steel, classified as a medium-carbon quenched and tempered steel. The “40” represents an average carbon content of approximately 0.4%, and “Cr” denotes chromium, with a chromium content ranging from 0.8% to 1.1%.
- Performance Characteristics: It exhibits high strength, toughness, and good hardenability. After quenching and tempering, it achieves excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, maintaining high strength while also possessing good plasticity and toughness. Its tensile strength can reach above 980MPa, with a yield strength of approximately 785MPa.
- Application Areas: It is commonly used in the manufacture of critical components in the machinery industry, such as shafts, gears, bolts, and connecting rods. Examples include crankshafts for automotive engines and spindles for machine tools, where a balance of strength, wear resistance, and a certain degree of toughness is required.
45# Steel
- Material Overview: 45# steel is a high-quality carbon structural steel, with the number “45” representing an average carbon content of 0.42% to 0.50%. It is one of the most frequently used carbon steels due to its relatively affordable price and stable performance, finding extensive application in the industrial sector.
- Performance Characteristics: It possesses high strength, with adequate plasticity and toughness. In the annealed state, it has low hardness and is easy to machine. After normalization, quenching, and tempering, its strength and hardness increase significantly, with a tensile strength of around 600MPa after quenching and tempering.
- Application Areas: It is widely used in various aspects of mechanical manufacturing, for parts such as ordinary shafts, gears, lead screws, keys, and pins. It is also commonly used in the manufacture of mold bases for molds that do not require top-tier performance specifications.
7075 Aluminum Alloy
- Material Overview: 7075 belongs to a heat-treatable, high-strength aluminum alloy, with primary alloying elements including zinc (Zn), magnesium (Mg), and copper (Cu). The zinc content ranges from 5.1% to 6.1%, magnesium from 2.1% to 2.9%, and copper from 1.2% to 2.0%.
- Performance Characteristics: It boasts ultra-high strength, with a tensile strength exceeding 570MPa and potentially reaching even higher values after special heat treatment and processing. It also has high hardness while maintaining a certain degree of toughness. However, its corrosion resistance is relatively weaker and requires surface treatment for enhanced protection.
- Application Areas: It is crucial in the aerospace industry, used to manufacture structural components such as aircraft beams, wings, and landing gears. It is also found in high-end sports equipment like bicycle frames and golf club heads, as well as in electronic device casings, where its high strength contributes to lightweight design.
